Brodie Groch - Professional Headshot

About Brodie Groch

Who I Am

I am an emerging technologist based in Calgary. My work sits at the intersection of mechanical engineering, prototyping, and structured systems design. I study Mechanical Engineering Technology at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and hold a Bachelor of Management from the University of British Columbia. This combination provides the technical and analytical foundation required to design, build, and refine complex systems.

I pursue projects that require discipline, precision, and practical execution across physical hardware, design, and applied analysis.

Selected Recognition

Intercounty Baseball League All-Star Game Uniform Designer (2024)
Commissioned to design the official North and South Division uniforms for the 2024 All-Star Game. The completed designs were published on official league and team channels and showcased by the Welland Jackfish.

Glencoe Golf and Country Club Service Award (2021)
Recognised for exemplary performance within the Turfcare division during the Annual Employee Awards. The award reflects reliability, professionalism, and contribution to a high-standard operating environment.

Current Work

I am developing the Groch Link Autonomous Shuttle Prototype, a scale model approximately one eighth of the intended full size. The prototype is designed to test GPS-guided autonomous navigation across different terrain types. It uses a custom EMT conduit frame, 3D-printed structural elements, and a modular electronics system with both purchased and repurposed components.

In parallel, I continue to expand my portfolio across engineering builds, professional design work, and analytical projects that combine mechanical systems with system-level thinking.

Philosophy

I believe disciplined preparation creates long-term capability. My aim is to construct systems that are exact, durable, and intentionally structured. I focus on clarity, elimination of distraction, and consistent refinement of the mechanisms that produce performance and understanding.
